Direcoes usam imperativos: Turn left, Go straight, Don't turn right. Preposicoes de lugar: next to (ao lado), across from (do outro lado da rua), between (entre dois), on the corner (na esquina). Perguntar: Is there a [place] near here?
Practice
15 minutes- Turn left vs On the left: turn left = acao (mova-se), on the left = posicao (esta la). Confusao muito comum.
- Across from vs in front of: across from = do OUTRO LADO DA RUA (com rua no meio), in front of = na frente (sem rua no meio).
- Between precisa de AND: between the bank AND the pharmacy. Aluno vai omitir o 'and'.
- Near vs far: 'Is it near?' 'Is it far?' — ambos sem artigo. Aluno pode dizer 'Is it the far?'.
- Is there a...? (existencia) vs Where is the...? (localizacao) — aluno confunde as duas perguntas.
- Pronuncia: straight = /streɪt/ (o 'aigh' e silencioso). Aluno dira 'stra-ight'.
