Grammar: past simple irregular verbs (get→got, go→went, have→had, do→did, take→took)

FormStructure
AffirmativeI got up early.,She went shopping.,We had lunch.,He did homework.,They took a taxi.
NegativeI didn't get up early.,She didn't go shopping.,We didn't have lunch.
InterrogativeDid you get up early?,Did she go shopping?,Did they take a taxi?

Common Errors

I didn't went. I didn't go.
Depois de didn't, use o verbo BASE (go, not went).
Did you went? Did you go?
Depois de Did, use o verbo BASE (go, not went).
I goed to school. I went to school.
Go e irregular: go → went (nao goed!).
Explicação (PT-BR):
Verbos irregulares NAO seguem a regra do -ed. Cada um tem sua forma propria: get→got, go→went, have→had, do→did, take→took. Mas negativa e pergunta sao IGUAIS aos regulares: didn't + verbo base, Did + verbo base.

Practice

Watch for:
- Regularizacao: 'goed', 'goted', 'taked' — o erro mais comum. Corrigir imediatamente com humor: 'Go is SPECIAL — went!'
- didn't + past form: 'I didn't went' — reforcar que didn't + BASE verb, igual aos regulares.
- Did + past form: 'Did you went?' — mesmo erro. Did + BASE verb.
- had breakfast vs had lunch: aluno pode confundir 'had' como passado de ter (posse) vs consumir. Contextualizar: 'I had coffee = I drank coffee.'
- got up vs got: 'got' sozinho pode confundir. Drill as frases completas: got up, got a taxi, got home.
- Dialogo: a piada final ('Homework? You?!') e sobre o Leo fazendo licao de casa — moment de leveza. Ler com surpresa!
- Este e o primeiro contato com irregulares — NAO sobrecarregar. So 5 verbos (get, go, have, do, take). Mais virao nas proximas aulas.
